Learning Styles

A - Visual
Caroline Lau Chen Yee (1507A101767)

"If I need to memorize something, I would first read and understand. Then I would write out whatever I remember. Sometimes I might need to rewrite the whole thing again if I forget. I study by writing out notes in specific patterns: mind map, bubble map etc. I'll also highlight the text in textbooks and label the points with numbers. When I first read a specific question, I would first visualize the page of this particular topic in the textbook. I can remember whether there is a picture on the top right, or what text is written on the bottom left of the page. I don't remember these pages by heart, it just comes naturally to me whenever I study."

B - Auditory
Lee Sze Theng (1507A101510)

"I think I can learn better during lectures and in class. When I have any enquiries, I would prefer to ask my friends instead of searching for the answer on the internet. I find it easier to remember when I am told about something instead of studying on it. While I am studying, I talk to myself a lot and keep on repeating the things I need to remember. While I am trying to explain something to someone, I don't usually write it out."

K - Kinaesthetic
Chia Tze San (1507A102007)
"Actually for me, visual or auditory learning are also ways that I use to study but when I get to touch, feel or physically do something, I can sort of even understand and learn the true meaning / reason deep down compared to the other two learning styles. I often prefer teachers to ask us to present an assignment rather than just noting down notes. So for now I study, I use all 3 ways, but most importantly when I go back home, I'll think of real-life situations. I often do this so I can feel more and understand more. By when I really need the answer, it comes naturally to me but not just by blindly learn by heart."

Personality test

My result for the personality test was ESFJ (Extraversion,  Sensing, Feeling, Judging). The results are very accurate as the description really matches my personality.

The descriptions for ESFJ are as follows:

"People who share the ESFJ personality type are, for lack of a better word, popular – which makes sense, given that it is also a very common personality type, making up twelve percent of the population. In high school, ESFJs are the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame. Later in life, ESFJs continue to enjoy supporting their friends and loved ones, organizing social gatherings and doing their best to make sure everyone is happy."

Strengths and weaknesses of ESFJ:

Strengths
1. Strong practical skills
2. Strong sense of duty
3. Very loyal
4. Sensitive and warm
5. Good at connecting with others

 Weaknesses
1. Worried about their social status
2. Inflexible
3. Reluctant to innovate or improvise
4. Vulnerable to critism
5. Often too needy
6. Too selfless
